My New Years Nails

I've been letting myself go a little here in Sweden polish wise, I normally don't buy this much polish but when you get your hands on so much variety you have to use the opportunity ;)
My latest haul, I got the Orly polishes half off!

Isadora - Love Crush
Isadora - Pool Crush
Isadora - Emerald Crush
Orly - Blue Collar
Orly - Orange Sorbet
Orly - It's Not Me It's You

Now on to my new years manicure, this looks much better in person, I have a personal vendetta with my camera at the moment, every photo I take comes out wonky in some way.

Polishes used:
Unnamed black polish in a skull shaped bottle
Isadora - Love Crush
Isadora - Pool Crush

Candy Stripes

Hope Christmas has been good to everyone, I got many wonderful things, my brother gave me a card game called Cards Against Humanity which is hilarious and a little nasty, full of black humor and satire.
After we ate and opened up our presents we decided to watch zombie movies, we watched Dawn of the Dead and World War Z which is pretty good and Peter Capaldi the new Doctor in Doctor Who played a Doctor for the W.H.O. institute in the WWZ movie, coincidence?? I don't think so!
Can't wait to see more of Capaldi in Doctor Who, unfortunately the new season starts next fall...
I can't wait that long!!
And last night we watched Zombieland, it's always fun ;)

I got lucky and found some Essie polishes on sale in Ahléns.

I bought Rock The Boat which is a pale blue polish, Naughty Nautical is teal and Madison Ave-hue is a hot pink one, they all have a subtle silver shimmer, that's what drew me to them ;)

I'm not quite happy how the pictures came out, not a lot of natural light to work with so I used the kitchen light but that made my skin look some kind of reddish-brown, but at least the manicure is pretty decent :)

Polishes used:
Essie - Naughty Nautical
Essie - Rock The Boat

Don't they look yummy?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all!!
I'll be spending Christmas with my friend and her boyfriend, we are planning on having a Zombie Movie Marathon tonight after we open out presents, it'll be awesome ;)

This will be my Christmas manicure, there are a few things I'm not happy with, I should have made the white and green area a bit smaller so the burgundy polish would show more, but other than that I'm pretty happy how it turned on.

Polishes used:
OPI - DS Extravagance
OPI - Alpine Snow
KleanColor - Metallic Green

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with lots of cookies and candles ;)

1st Haul ;)

I'll be spending the Holidays in Sweden and I'm using the opportunity to find nail polish brands that are not available back home. There isn't much variety in Iceland so I'm in nail polish heaven here in Sweden ;)

So here is what I found on my first shopping trip.

I stocked up on Seche Vite topcoat, best topcoat ever and it's so hard for me to get my hands on it.
Also bought OPI  DS Reflection and Extravagance, OPI is available back home but not the DS collection, they where pretty expensive but I almost don't care ;)
And lastly I got three polishes from American Apparel, I had seen swatches of Peacock and Crescent Heights over at Lisa's blog The Polish Playground and I wanted them badly and the last one is Aqua Dust, a really pretty glitter.

Really happy with them all :)

Funky Christmas Trees?

Finally I've got time to do some blogging :) School's over until January and work has taken it's place.
All my attention and free time went into school so I haven't been doing any nail art for a while now, my nails and cuticles are not in the best shape ever but I decided to post this manicure anyway.
Some of the photos are taken under a lamp and some in daylight.... or almost daylight, the days are getting shorter and shorter, now we only have a couple of hours of daylight, it's really tricky to take decent photographs.

Polishes used:
Kleancolor - True Purple
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Teal
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Candy
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Clover
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Fuchsia
Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black

As you can see the colors vary from photo to photo, tricky business.

I'll be spending Christmas and New Years in Sweden, I'm leaving in a few days and I'm sooo excited.
I went last year also and had a really good time. The nail polish hoarder in me is squeeing with delight, new polishes, new polishes!!!
Last time I saw a lot of OPI's, Essie's and Isadora's but what other polish brands can I find there?? And where??
Can I find Seche Vite in Sweden??
Please let me know so I know where to look ;)

Stitched Halloween Nails

Even though we don't celebrate Halloween here in Iceland I decided I wanted to do some Halloween nail art, I did two looks, the first one is this and I'll post the second one tomorrow.

So happy Halloween for those who celebrate it!!
I followed a tutorial by HannahRoxNails which you can find here!

I'm not 100% satisfied with this but I'm still happy how it came out.
There are many smears and bubbles that somehow slithered in there...
Also the lighting is kinda wonky..

Polishes used:
Alessandro - Ice Cream Bar Lime - Vanilla
Alessandro unknown purple
E.L.F. - Party Peach
Alessandro - Midnight Black

My friend colored my hair yesterday and I'm really happy with the outcome, so I decided to overcome the phobia of posting a picture of myself (other than my nails ;) ) and show you how it looks like.
And the quality of the picture is crap.
PINK!!!!

Okay that's everything for today, now I'll go brood over the increasing amount of snow that is falling at the moment, I'll have to swim my way out of the house tomorrow...

Abstract Flowers...

... or what ever you want it to be ;)

Been busy with school and work, you know, the usual.
It's officially the first day of winter here in Iceland, some people celebrate it (we also have the official first day of summer) but I say no! I'm not celebrating cold weather and darkness.... You could maybe sway me if it involved alcohol ;)

Polishes used:
China Glaze - Dorothy Who?
Butter London - Trout Pout
Butter London- Primrose Hill Picnic

Two Color Skittle

I'm a little behind on replying to the comments I get on my blog but I just wanted to let you know that it will happen sometime ;) But I read every one of them and they all make me happy so keep on commenting.

This is one of my favorite nail art to do, pick two or three colors and then just mix and mach.

Polishes used:
KleanColor - Concrete Gray
KleanColor - Jasmine Night

This one is the most color accurate, leans more towards green than shows on the pics.

And here is an extra one showing my cat LakkrĂs being very helpful, my hand looks tiny compared to his head. He loves to distract me when I'm taking pictures, comes all cuddly and cute, purring while he rubs his face on my hands ;) Love that rascal!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I thought I would do a manicure dedicated to the pink ribbon.

In my books it's a failure but I decided to post it anyway, the pink polish and the pink crystals are way too similar in color, the crystals are way too big for my nail, I looked at them and thought them tiny but when they went on the nail I almost didn't have enough space for them.... Maybe they grew... o.O

Polishes used:
OPI - Mod About You
Depend no. 190

It's 3:30 and the sun is so low in the sky it's soon setting so I got this beautiful light when I was photographing my nails.

Dotty Lines Manicure

Long time since last post. Last week was super busy with work and school. I used every spare moment making a medieval dress, I'm in a medieval "club" called the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) who meet like 4 times a year where we dress in medieval clothes, eat and drink medieval style and do activities such as fencing, dancing, singing etc. I'ts so much fun!
So no manicures last week due to my dress which I finally finished at the event.

So for the past month I've been nominated for the Liebster award 9 times!!!!!!
That is INSANE ;) Thank you all who nominated me!! I'll have a proper blog post where I thank everyone and link back to them and maybe I'll nominate some blogs, but I wanted to ask you all if I should go and answer all the questions from the 9 people who nominated me? I would probably have to do it in 3 or 4 posts and there is a lot to answer, or do you get bored from reading so much about me? :p
Please let me know what you think because I'm at a loss if I should answer them all or not.

But on to the nails!!!
No thought behind this, just took out my dotting tool, chose colors and did something.

Polishes Used:
Essie - Lilacism
L'Oreal - Magic Croisette
E.L.F. - Passion Pink
Cult Nails - Deal With It
OPI - Bright Lights - Big Color

Textured Dotticure

Now when the September challenge is over I feel kind of lost, nail art wise, I'm not sure what to do next, so many techniques I can try but I don't know where to start.

So for now I did something very simple, something I go to a lot when I want to do some nail art that isn't too time consuming and doesn't need a lot of attention.

Polishes used:
Cult Nails - Deal With It
OPI - Magazine Cover Mouse
OPI - Alcatraz... Rocks

My nails have grown quite a bit over the last month. It was really difficult to get them longer than past the tip of my fingers, they would crack and peel like crazy. I was getting so frustrated with it so I decided to try the Nail Envy strengthener from OPI and it has done wonders, now they are so long and I've have to adjust to the length, it's weird but I love it!! ;)

I want a red panda!

Nothing nail related today, the September challenge is over and I'm feeling a little lost, don't know what to do next, everything and nothing.
Going to do something on my nails tonight so maybe I'll have something to post tomorrow, in the meantime here is a cute red panda playing with a pumpkin.

31DC2013 Day 31 - Honor nails you love

I decided to honor Gelic' Nail Art's rainbow manicure. I love it, simple but so colorful and fun.

Polishes used:
KleanColor- Concrete Gray
OPI - No Room For The Blues
Essie - Play Date
OPI - Cajun Shrimp
Depend no. 124
 E.L.F. - Yellow
KleanColor - Bikini Green

Funky light on this one, the stripes are bright and vivid but the grey looks more like a blue.

So now the challenge is over, I've challenged myself this month and done things I've been afraid to try. Some where a total fail but some I liked very much :)

31DC2013 Day 30 - Inspired by a Tutorial

This one is a day late, had so much to do yesterday I didn't have time for my manicure.
I also got my first Helmer yesterday from Ikea and had a fun time putting it together and organizing my polishes and my cats took the box it came in in their care, slept and played in it, funny how boxes tempt cats, almost like a catnip ;)

But here is my inspired by a tutorial mani.
Found this cute bunny tutorial from Cutepolish on pinterest but I can't find it on her page.
But here come my bunnies.

Polishes used:
Alessandro - Cashmere Touch
OPI - Alpine Snow
OPI - Mod About You
E.L.F. - Yellow
