L'Oreal Color Riche - Paradise Flower - Swatches

As I'm currently in between nail art challenges and saving my nail art for that I thought I would post some swatches, maybe even go and swatch my entire collection to post them on the blog so there won't be as many days where I have nothing to post.
So here we go!

L'Oreal - Paradise Flower is a limited edition shade from the Miss Pop collection.
It looked so good in the bottle, pink jelly base with gold and fuchsia glitter in different sizes, but when I put it on I wasn't that impressed.

Application was hard, it gets gloopy and a little bumpy and I had to battle with bald patches, also the glitter turns out matte on the nail and somehow drowns in the base.

The photos aren't quite color accurate, its a little more vibrant in reality.

I can't say I absolutely hate it, but I don't love it either.
Will probably use it again as an accent nail or in nail art.

So tell me what you thought of this post, do you like it or should I just stick to the nail art?

Peachy nails.

So it's back to school tomorrow, I have mixed feelings about that, mostly because I have difficulty with waking up really early and it makes me super cranky. Back to school also means that winter is coming, it's already getting colder and more darker by the day.
But it's also fun at school, I'm learning something I really like and I enjoy doing, it's just sometimes when you wake up early in the morning and it's dark and cold outside you forget why you're doing this and you think, screw it, I'm going back to bed, most days I can fight this off and drag myself to school but there comes the occasional day when you just don't wanna.

But enough about that.

I tried first to make this manicure a nice smooth gradient but the colors where too similar so you couldn't see the gradient that well, so I did a different gradient.

Butter London polishes in the mail

Haven't posted for a while, mostly because I procrastinate to much.

So here in the lovely country of Iceland we don't have a lot to choose from when it comes to nail polish so not long ago I discovered blog sales!!

I bought four Butter London polishes

These are:
Disco Biscuit
The Black Knight
Primrose Hill Picnic
Trout Pout

Disco Biscuit is my favorite of them, it's a bright pink/fuchsia with blue sparkles in it, perfect for summer, in sunlight it starts to glow and you can't take your eyes off it.

Love them, the only thing I have against them is that I don't like the brush, it's a little difficult to handle and doesn't spread on the nail that much but other than that they are quite lovely :)

Blog Your Heart Out Award

Jezzica from Little Miss Nailpolish nominated me for the Blog Your Heart Out Award.
Thank you :)

Answer five questions and nominate five bloggers with less than 100 followers. This is to help new blogger to get more followers.

The 5 questions to answer

1. What/who encouraged you to start blogging?
I had been reading blogs about nail polish and nail art and had been doing my own nails for a while, following tutorials and experimenting then I started photographing my manicures and had this sudden longing to show them to someone but that doesn't always happen, you take it off the next day and you have no one to show it to or it starts to chip and you feel like it is ruined. So I decided to start a blog.

2. How did you choose what topic(s) to blog about?
This was always from beginning a place where I wanted to share my nail art, maybe talk a little about my life and my cats and even books and movies I liked or disliked.

3. What is something that most people don't know about you?
This is a difficult one. Most people don't know I own 150-something nail polishes, I almost hid it from people before I started blogging, but after I started the blog I came to terms with it :)
My collection is really tiny compared to people whose collection is around 2000 polishes.
If people ask me now how many polishes I own, I tell them without feeling guilty.

4. What three words describe your style?
I think my blog name says it all: Colorful Cupcake Cat.

5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
I own two beautiful Norwegian forest cats who need a lot of love and attention :)
I read a lot, watch movies and TV shows, I'm also in the SCA or Society for Creative Anachronism.
I'm studying art and art history, drawing and painting and I practice pole fitness.
And I have wonderful friends who(m?) I love hanging out with.

And the 5 awesome blog I nominate for this award:

I hope you all take part in this, it's really fun and a great way to get to know one another a little bit more.

Pastel Gradient

Another challenge from the Facebook group Nail Polish Challenge.

The polishes are some cheap ones from a brand  called Aisha Vollaré Cosmetics, they don't have any names or numbers that I could find, but they served they're purpose well.

Oh Peter Capaldi is the new Doctor, I like him and I think he will be a different, but awesome Doctor. They needed a new element after David Tennant and Matt Smith, another young Doctor would have made this too repetitive, too mainstream, just because the show is so famous.

That's it for today, I have Torchwood episodes that need to be watched,
season 3 where Peter Capaldi plays a very disturbing man.

Shades Of Orange

So I decided to give myself a little break from blogging this weekend, the challenge I took part in in July was a blast but pretty time consuming and a lot of work.

I recently joined a Facebook group called Nail Polish Challenge where every week there is a new list of challenges for each day of the week and today's challenge is shades of orange.
I realized that this is probably one of my least favorite color category, I own only 6 orange polishes.
Still I managed to do a decent manicure with only orange colors.

Polishes used:
E.L.F. - Party Peach
KleanColor - Neon Fuschia
Hello Kitty Laque & Shine - Gaby Cherie

As you can probably see the last polish I was wearing was green, it left my nails, cuticles and skin all green stained, not cool. :(
