Haul, Instagram and other things

So many things have been going on lately so I've had to put the blog on hold for a while.
School has kept me busy as ever and work also so I've had little time for anything else but now
school is over, at least until next fall when I'll begin my last semester as I'll
graduate next Christmas. Can't wait!

Please click on the link and follow me there.

Last but not least; my haul!!
I met up with a friend in London where we spent a great weekend mostly in art galleries,
we also did a lot of sight seeing, walked around and drank a few beers ;)
From there we went to Sweden where she lives, I spent a few weeks there with her and her boyfriend,
needless to say, I had a lot of fun and picked up a few nail related things.

The items:
Lush - Lemony Flutter (finally got one)
Essie spa - Starter Scrub
Essie - Apricot Cuticle Oil
Crabtree and Evelyn hand lotions

The polishes:
China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise
China Glaze - Platinum Silver
China Glaze - Pink Voltage
OPI - Go With The Lava Flow
OPI - A-piers To Be Tan
OPI - Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!
Essie - Mint Candy Apple
Essie - Over The Edge

I bought a back-up of Essie's Mint Candy Apple in Sweden, it's my
favorite polish and the brand hasn't been available in Iceland but to my surprise that changed last week.
I see a lot of money spending in my near future.

Polishes are:
Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Essie - No More Film
Essie - Cute As A Button

That's it for now, I can't promise a steady stream of blog posts but I'll do my best,
you might see more from me on Facebook or Instagram so be sure to follow me there,
you can find the links on the bar to the right of this post.
Until next time.

Haul: Nail Mail

When Color4nails had discount on all A England polishes I decided I needed to try a couple and using the opportunity ordered few more, I'm loving their service, the delivery was quick and that's saying something because I live in Iceland. Everything was packaged in bubble wrap and padded envelope and the best part was that I got it straight to my door.

From left to right:
Jade - Holografico Mgia. Beautiful black holo (See picture below.)
A England - Order Of The Garter. Blue shimmer with purple flecks.
A England - Rose Bower. Red metallic holo.
Alanna Renee - Avada Kedavra. Lime green base with small and medium lime green glitter.
Glisten and Glow H K Girl - Fast drying and super shiny clear top coat. Can't wait to try it, heard so many great things about it.

And here is an extra picture of the holographic black, sooo sparkly!!!

In other news, I'm swamped in school right now, there might get a little while between posts, sometimes I just don't have the energy to do anything on my nails.

My New Years Nails

I've been letting myself go a little here in Sweden polish wise, I normally don't buy this much polish but when you get your hands on so much variety you have to use the opportunity ;)
My latest haul, I got the Orly polishes half off!

Isadora - Love Crush
Isadora - Pool Crush
Isadora - Emerald Crush
Orly - Blue Collar
Orly - Orange Sorbet
Orly - It's Not Me It's You

Now on to my new years manicure, this looks much better in person, I have a personal vendetta with my camera at the moment, every photo I take comes out wonky in some way.

Polishes used:
Unnamed black polish in a skull shaped bottle
Isadora - Love Crush
Isadora - Pool Crush

Candy Stripes

Hope Christmas has been good to everyone, I got many wonderful things, my brother gave me a card game called Cards Against Humanity which is hilarious and a little nasty, full of black humor and satire.
After we ate and opened up our presents we decided to watch zombie movies, we watched Dawn of the Dead and World War Z which is pretty good and Peter Capaldi the new Doctor in Doctor Who played a Doctor for the W.H.O. institute in the WWZ movie, coincidence?? I don't think so!
Can't wait to see more of Capaldi in Doctor Who, unfortunately the new season starts next fall...
I can't wait that long!!
And last night we watched Zombieland, it's always fun ;)

I got lucky and found some Essie polishes on sale in Ahléns.

I bought Rock The Boat which is a pale blue polish, Naughty Nautical is teal and Madison Ave-hue is a hot pink one, they all have a subtle silver shimmer, that's what drew me to them ;)

I'm not quite happy how the pictures came out, not a lot of natural light to work with so I used the kitchen light but that made my skin look some kind of reddish-brown, but at least the manicure is pretty decent :)

Polishes used:
Essie - Naughty Nautical
Essie - Rock The Boat

Don't they look yummy?

1st Haul ;)

I'll be spending the Holidays in Sweden and I'm using the opportunity to find nail polish brands that are not available back home. There isn't much variety in Iceland so I'm in nail polish heaven here in Sweden ;)

So here is what I found on my first shopping trip.

I stocked up on Seche Vite topcoat, best topcoat ever and it's so hard for me to get my hands on it.
Also bought OPI  DS Reflection and Extravagance, OPI is available back home but not the DS collection, they where pretty expensive but I almost don't care ;)
And lastly I got three polishes from American Apparel, I had seen swatches of Peacock and Crescent Heights over at Lisa's blog The Polish Playground and I wanted them badly and the last one is Aqua Dust, a really pretty glitter.

Really happy with them all :)

Long weekend..

Just watched the last episode of Doctor Who!! Phew, Moffat is an Evil Genius!!!

I went to Reykjavik over the weekend with my family. I bought three polishes from the Make Up Store, they had many offers and discounts to celebrate that the song from Iceland made it to the finals in Eurovision.
They had buy two get one three on their nail polishes and I walked out with three :)
Not quite the right colors showing..

The colors are closer to being correct on this pic but still not quite.

They name their polishes women's names and when I saw a polish with my name on it I got more excited than I care to admit.
Elin - Glossy watermelon red, this is the perfect color with my name on it ;)
Charmaine - Blue/green shimmer. Make Up Store writes on the bottles if the polishes are glossy, shimmer, holographic or another and on this it says shimmer but it reminds me more of a holo, haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping it turns out holographic.
Paula - Glossy emerald green, I tried this one and it stained my nails a bit..

I also bought the infamous Burt's Bees cuticle cream and so far I'm liking it.

The Eurovision song contest turned in to a snoring contest when my family (except me) all slept through the show in front of the TV. No fun in them -.-

And yesterday at work I boldly exclaimed that winter was finally over and summer beginning and what happened then??
This happened:
It started to hail!

Okay enough for now.

Feeding the Nail Polish Monster with Cult Nails!!

I love nail polish!!
So much it has become an obsession.
I try to restrain myself from buying every kind of nail polish I see and more than not it works, but sometimes I let myself feed The Polish Monster.
There are limited brands you can get where I live, you don't get China Glaze, Color Club, Misa or Essie polishes here in Iceland and many other indie or big brands either, so if you want them you have to look for sites on the internet or ebay to get them and even then most sites won't ship to Iceland.
I've had my eyes on Cult Nails for a long time, reading about them on blogs and drooling over their site, so I decided to e-mail them and ask if it was possible for them to ship to Iceland and the answer I got was:

We have not shipped to Iceland before, but I have added this to the locations we now ship to.

YAY for Cult Nails!!!
I decided that this would be The Polish Monsters monthly offering.
So I made a purchase with them and after 8 days I got my package :)

Everything looked so nice and neat when I opened it!!

Love how well they packaged the polish!
Heaven!!

Captivated - Charlatan - Deal With It
These pictures don't get the colors quite right...

Captivated is the red with coral/orange and irridescent round glitter in it, it's almost like it's on fire!!!
Charlatan is technically a top coat, its pink/blue/purple shimmer, you put it over any polish and it will transform your nails into shimmery sparkliness (that must be a valid description).
Deal With It (my favorite) is lime green with golden shimmer in it, so bright and fun!!

Kudos to Cult Nails who ship WORLDWIDE!!

It started snowing yesterday, I'm in denial about it. I don't see why summer can't begin!!
So my summer starts.... NOW!!!
